Founded by pharmacist James Payne in February 2008 and named after his beloved Arsenal and a nearby park, the dazzling Kings Arsenal are a five-a-side football phonemenon plying it’s trade in the Pitch Invasion Wandsworth Sunday evening league.
Originally made up in entirely of West Country folk that had migrated to the big City, Kings Arsenal instantly lived up to their hallowed name playing some of the most attractive, flowing football that had ever been seen south of the river.
Consecutive promotions ensued, but a successful first season in the Premier League was followed by a relegation and the proud Kings Arsenal then yo-yoed between the top and second tier of Sunday evening five-a-side football in Wandsworth.
The Summer 2009 season saw several new faces join the squad and Kings Arsenal became a force to be reckoned with once more, surging to the top of the Championship table on the back of an imperious unbeaten run.
With the new signings at the fore Kings Arsenal were on the verge of an historic maiden title and a return to the Premier League where their stylish brand of total football belongs.
Kings Arsenal lifted their first ever trophy when they were named Championship winners at the end of the Summer 2009 season.
The Reds have established themselves as the Premiership’s most popular club, thanks to a couple of new faces, and finished runners up in the top flight in the Winter 2009/10 campaign, missing out on the title by just three points.
