Kings close out year with successive win

December 21, 2009

Kings Arsenal finished the first decade of the new millennium by beating Millennium 7-2.

The win leaves Kings three points off the top of the Premiership table as Pitch Invasion leagues take  a break for Christmas.

Kings Arsenal started with six men after all-action attacker Phil Foster was struck down by illness of the day of the match.

Andy made his second start and, after Millennium started the game in control of the ball, opened the scoring with his first goal for the club.

Kings Arsenal were soon three goals up and Luke Tinklin got one of those when he gambled on a keeper error, sprinted and struck from close range.

Luke was making his first appearance out on pitch in three weeks after first choice goalkeeper Fabricio Mazzola made a long awaited return,

Brazilian stopper Fabricio was at his outstanding best, making agile saves and dominating his area.

However, Millennium got a goal back before half-time when a moment of confusion between Luke and Fabricio saw the ball rebound in to the net.

Kings Arsenal started the second half in spectacular fashion, getting a goal almost straight from the kick-off.

Millennium were already struggling for motivation as they went into the second period and the fourth goal killed them off.

Kings Arsenal still struggled to keep the ball, but were proving very dangerous on the break and James Payne got a rare goal when he cleverly deflected a goalbound Andy shot in exactly the same direction as it was originally going.

Millennium got a second goal as the final whistle drew near – their skillful striker finally getting the better of the brilliant Fabricio – but Kings Arsenal finished the game 7-2 winners.

Paul Jenkins was back to his very best and fired home a hat-trick while Andy was dominant at the back.

The win was Kings Arsenal’s second in a row and leaves the Reds boasting a goal difference of 11 from just two games.

Kings Arsenal are next in action on 3rd January against Team Choc Ice in a 5.00pm kick off.

Match abandoned

September 19, 2009

Sunday’s game has been called off as AFC. Turnheat couldn’t get a team together. Not the best way to start the new season, but at least it means we start with a 3-0 win and three points.

In other new… I got an email from Pitch Invasion saying “Congratulations of your first bit of silverware!” Maybe we’ll get a trophy for our Championship win?
